Queen of Venus

traditional drawing of adachi rei as she appears in the queen of venus music video by flavor foley. she is lounging on a golden chair with a red cushion with a hand to her face. one of her eyes is covered by her bangs. red, blue, and green wires are hanging out of her body and extending to the frame or wrapping around her arms. the frame has golden pillars and a deep blue background with faint red patterns. in white text, the phrase so come and fuck away my sin is written. the drawing has dark lines and hatch marks for shading and is colored with markers.

Wanted to try my hand at traditional drawing again, and I happened to fall back to drawing Adachi Rei once again. It's funny how one of the most synthetic vocal synths is the subject of my latest traditional drawings. This time, her appearance is based on the "Queen of Venus" music video by FLAVOR FOLEY, which I began listening to again. I liked the aesthetic and wanted to try giving it some love while practicing traditional art a little more. Her skin tone turned out more yellow than I liked due to me misjudging her skin tone in the MV and my marker swatches, but I think it adds an extra bit of artificiality to her design.
